StatsCan says gas station sales set the pace, up 3.2 percent
OTTAWA, Sept. 24 () -- Retail sales in Canada rose 0.6 percent in July to $40.3 billion, regaining ground lost in June, Statistics Canada said Tuesday.Sales in June dropped 0.6 percent to $40.1 billion.Gains in July were led by sales at gasoline stations, where higher prices contributed to a 3.2 percent growth in sales, the data agency said.General merchandise sales receipts rose 1.1 percent in July,[url=http://www.christianslouboutinsales.com]Christian Louboutin Black[/url], rising for the third month of the past four. Clothing store sales rose 1.9 percent in the month, including a 2.7 percent gain at apparel retailers and a 0.8 percent gain at shoe stores.Sales fell 0.6 percent at auto dealerships in the month after six consecutive months of gains.
