With his fifth victory of the season and the 65th of his Sprint Cup Series career, Johnson gained on first-place Matt Kenseth in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship, cutting his lead from 18 points to eight.Kenseth settled for a seventh-place finish after claiming the first two Chase events at Chicagoland and New Hampshire.Dale Earnhardt Jr. shook off a pit-road penalty to finish second, making a late charge to end 0.5 seconds off the pace.Joey Logano, Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch rounded out the Top 5.
