In the past five years, Hardy's collections have shown at fashion weeks in Toronto,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Los Angeles, New York and Paris.

The recent showing of his Fall/Winter 2008 collection at L'Oreal Fashion Week in Toronto this past week was no exception. His models first walked down the runway in vintage Italian undergarments from the 1940s, paired with either black organza tops or ornate skirts.
Later, the models came out fully dressed in silk taffeta ensembles; others wore black organza underplayed with nude silk. Some were wrapped in soft leather or Persian lamb coats.
"I find that mixing textures is more assertive and creates more depth than using prints,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," says Hardy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who wore a simple white T-shirt, grey jeans and his key style piece -- a felt hat with long black rooster feathers -- when he thanked the crowd after his show. He describes his style as: Eclectic. "I mix low with high price points,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], vintage with new, and sporty with dressy," he says.
Best shopping score: On one of his trips to the United Kingdom in 2005,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Hardy found a wool satin one-button tuxedo jacket by Gucci in a London vintage shop. "It still had the tags on it!"
Regrettable purchase: Hardy ran into some tough luck with a pair of pants by American designer Rick Owens. "They fell apart after my second time wearing them."
Item of clothing he never wears, but cannot get rid of: A leather biker vest by Japanese design house Christian Peau "that looks like something Captain Jack from Pirates of the Caribbean would wear,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," he laughs.

Most guilty shopping pleasure: Getting lost in L'Eclaireur, a Parisian boutique that carries everything from fashion by avant-garde designers like Ann Demeulemeester to art and furniture by established and emerging designers.

Signature accessory: A two-part cross that jewelry designer Dean Davidson made for Hardy one Christmas.
