This run initially retains the agricultural and rangeland character of the Grand Ronde River: Riverside City Park to Elgin run. Within 5 miles of Elgin,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the river descends into a deeper,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], narrower V-shaped valley that characterizes the river's course for much of its remaining length to the Snake River. For a much longer trip,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], boaters may continue 3 miles to the confluence with the Wallowa River at Rondowa and from there another 36 miles to Troy. The former access at Rondowa is on private property and is not available. Character: agricultural; hilly.
