Knicks make easy work of woeful Wizards,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
It's pretty much close to an automatic win in the NBA these days when you have the Washington Wizards on your schedule.
Every game so far this season for the Knicks have seem to be an away one so far this season, but the rare times they have played at home, New York have dominated. "I like to pass,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Prigioni said. "I like to work on my shot everyday. We have great players so sometimes they double team so I have to hit my shots. I work on my shot every day. I am happy because the ball went in."
With Jason Kidd still out of action with a stiff back, Prigioni has stepped up and played well in his absence. It's the best he has looked since putting on the Knicks jersey and seems more comfortable now than he did during the preseason.
"I am so happy that I helped the team the last two games," said Prigioni. "J-Kidd is out so it's important for the team. When a player gets hurt,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], another player can do the job with little and big things."
Kidd's back issues and Prigioni playing so well should mean that New York will not rush the future Hall of Famer any sooner than he has to.
"He knows how to play," said Mike Woodson. "When your a point guard who passes first and shoots second his teammates love it. He does everything I like in a point guard and that is why I am here."
It was as easy of a game as it could get for the Knickerbockers as they shot 53 percent on the night, and were never threatened after outscoring Washington 26-17 after one quarter. The Wizards were coming off their first win of the season in their last game ,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but were never able to build any momentum off that win against the stingy Knicks.
"With teams that are struggling,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you have to jump on them early,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Raymond Felton, who scored 11 points. Tyson Chandler added a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. The league's leading shooter from the field continues his scoring hot streak. He has scored double digits in points in four of his last five games,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and is averaging more points this season than he ever.
"I want to be more aggressive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Chandler. "I went through a two week stretch where my body wasn't feeling good but I am better now."
Chandler had a career high of 28 points on Monday night in the loss to Brooklyn,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and is starting to make the Knicks a much more dangerous team if he is going to score points on a consistent basis.
"It's huge for us for him to score points,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Steve Novak. "Rolling to the basket is something he needs to do for the rest of us. He opens up all the shooters when he does. And when he does cut to basket, he finished the points better than anyone."
