My first wife was a fashion designer. When I first met her in New York City she was attending the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and then went on to the Parsons School of Design.
This woman had a personal style that simply blew my mind. She came up with outfits and a look that literally stopped people in their tracks, and it wasn outlandish stuff either or terribly expensive attire. It was just correct on a different level. It was correct according to criteria that I didn know existed at the time. She could use color and textures and layers in ways that suggested character and history. She taught me that there were far more colors in the world than I ever knew existed and I was something of an artist. She taught me that there were. details.
