Seniors who live in Minnesota are the nation's healthiest
MINNETONKA,christian louboutin online shop, Minn., May 29 () -- Minnesota seniors are the nation's healthiest reflecting a high level of exercise, dental visits, medication coverage and low rate of hunger, a non-profit says.Minnesota's ranking also reflected a low rate of hospitalization for hip fractures, more able-bodied seniors and a large number of seniors who report being in very good or excellent health, but the state also had a low percentage of senior residents with a personal doctor or healthcare provider. The United Health Foundation commissioned America's Health Rankings Senior Report to examine the health of U.S. seniors and produce the inaugural edition of "America's Health Rankings Senior Report: A Call to Action for Individuals and Their Communities."Following Minnesota for top senior health were Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Iowa. Worst senior health was in Mississippi preceded by Oklahoma, Louisiana, West Virginia and Arkansas.Physical inactivity among healthy seniors ranged from a high of 41.3 percent in Tennessee and 41.2 percent in West Virginia and to a low of 21.3 percent in California and 20.5 percent in Colorado, the report said. The report noted states with the lowest percentage of seniors with multiple chronic conditions were Alaska at 20.9 percent, Wyoming at 21.5 percent and Montana at 23.1 percent, while states with the highest percentages were Florida (44 percent) and New Jersey (43.2 percent)."Chronic illness is unnecessarily high among seniors, christian louboutin homme," Dr. Rhonda Randall, senior adviser to United Health Foundation and chief medical officer, UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement, said in a statement.
