DeGarmo steps into Parton 'very tall shoes for '9 to 5,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]

DeGarmo, best known for her near-win in the third season of "American Idol" said being cast as Doralee for the first national tour of "9 to 5" gave her "very tall shoes" to fill, she noted. After all,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], created the part in the 1980 movie.
Both versions of the story follow three female office workers who decide to take revenge on their sexist boss by kidnapping him and teaching him a lesson. Parton,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who made her big-screen debut in the film and scored a hit with the title tune,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], wrote the music and lyrics for the musical.
The show makes its first swing through town beginning Tuesday at the ,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Parton,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], DeGarmo said, is "our fairy godmother of the show. She floats in and floats out; when we were in Nashville, she came every day when we were teching (the show); you'd hear her giggle and laugh in the audience. She likes to pop up in some other cities and surprise us. She's always so inspiring and supportive."
DeGarmo has done a lot of musical theater. She made her Broadway debut in "Hairspray,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," toured in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and most recently appeared Off-Broadway in "The Toxic Avenger."
