Bonita Springs Chapter of Shoes That Fit hold back to school shoe and clothing drive Naples Daily News User story from Pat Leggett
This 501 ©3 non-profit charity pairs up school children in need with individuals, businesses other organizations who are interested in providing these children with new shoes clothing. On June 14,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 2011 volunteers sorted bagged new shoes and clothes for over 400 local elementary students.
The shoes, shirts, pants, shorts underwear were provided by volunteers from our fundraiser donations.
Publix Market donated the bags we use to package the items,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Costco of Gulf Coast Mall provided breakfast California Pizza of Coconut Point provided lunch for our volunteers.
50 volunteers from the following groups participated: middle schools, high schools, FGCU, Spanish Wells,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], teachers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Shadow Wood Country Club Members,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Estero Newcomers Club, Estero Encore Club community members.
The Bonita Springs Chapter was established in September 2004 by Pat Tom Leggett.
Since then our volunteers have donated over 90,000 articles of clothing 4,000 pairs of
shoes to school children in the Lee County. Schools we support are: Bonita Springs, Colonial, Pinewoods, Three Oaks, Tanglewood, Spring Creek Elementary plus Bonita Springs Middle School.
Parents interested in receiving shoes or clothes for their children from Shoes That Fit must complete a form available at the schools mentioned.
*The school identifies the children in need provides the sizes for the shoes clothing.
*Needed items are purchased by volunteers.
