any little boys who do girls dress up,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
LOL His mom and I were just talking about it at his birthday party on Sat because I said I thought I had a boy in a girl's body since she likes trucks,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], buses,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], motorcycles, and airplanes and that is when the mom brought up what you said. I think we got interrupted after that and didn't get to finish our conversation. She also has another male friend and he is obsessed with dancing and musicals. He is quite a good singer at the age of almost 4! HTH
Luke likes to wear my shoes and likes to pretend to put on my make up,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but I think it's just a normal phase for any kid to try and be like their parents. At the in-law's,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there is a play room with a bunch of dress up clothes (for the granddaughters) and Luke likes to wear the princess dresses and twirl. It drives dh crazy.
My best friend's little boy is 4 and he prefers pinks and purples and tends to play more with the girls,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], like your son, he 'plays' with boy toys like cars and balls.
I don't know if there is a 'right answer' or not,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but if I were in your situation, I would probably go with it. I don't think that just b/c,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as adults, we view colors as 'boy' and 'girl', that it means something about kids who choose specific colors to like. It's so hard to know what to say and do sometimes. Shares my interest in musicals/dancing and according to him Vikings wear Pink. In fact he hasseveral pink shirts,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and we have a few lavendar polos in our wardrobe. Honestly,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be allowed to explore all possibilities. I imagine your ds's preference is because he hangs out with mostly females. Not a thing wrong. Ds has a shirt that says,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], "Tough guys wear pink". He wore it to pre-k this past week!
my son wanted to wear make up and nail polish for over a year!!! he says his favorite color is PINK,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and hangs out with the girls at pre school. But he has two teen sisters at home,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who indulge his behaviors. strange how its OK for a little girl to say they want to be a boy when they grow up,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but it totally freaks us out when our boys say they want to be girls. But it is truely a normal phase. as US moms play such an important role in their lives.
I wouldn't squash the behavior yet. Definately encourage him to play dress up with the fireman or policeman clothes, but dont discourage the more feminine behaviors. But he is a very sensitive and empathic boy. strong willed and rough .
