Alana Randall has her fingers crossed that sometime this month she get to meet Andrew Lloyd Webber. For someone whose childhood dream is to perform in musical theatre,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], just getting an opportunity to clap eyes on the impresario much less being introduced to him would rank as her greatest thrill so far in her young career.
Randall is in the cast of Webber production of The Wizard of Oz, making its North American premiere at the Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Webber is expected to be in town for the official opening on Sunday.
Randall caught the bug for musical theatre at Father Michael Goetz Secondary School and went go to study at Humber College and Toronto Randolph Academy of Performing Arts,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Less than a decade into her showbiz career,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Randall already boasts an impressive resume,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including roles in the musicals Hair and Hairspray. She has also had small roles in TV movies such as Made The Movie and Sharpay Fabulous Adventure. Then there are commercials for McDonald Payless Shoes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Liberty Mutual, and CTV So You Think You Can Dance Canada.
While still in school,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], she honed her dancing skills with the Toronto Raptors Dance Pak as well as with the Toronto Argos cheerleading squad.
A busy gal,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], she wasn too sure when her agent suggested she audition for Oz,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which gained wide publicity with CBC search for Dorothy in the TV show Over The Rainbow.
